Sinks, toilets, showers and stormwater drains. Camera first, fixed price, and $77 off blocked drain work.
A blocked drain gives you about a day of warning before it becomes a real problem. The shower drains slowly, the kitchen sink gurgles when the washing machine empties, and then one morning the toilet backs up and it is not a slow drain any more.
We clear blocked sinks, toilets, showers, floor wastes, sewer lines and stormwater drains for homes and businesses right across Brisbane. Drain clearing starts from $99 and there is currently $77 off blocked drain work. You get a fixed price before we start and no weekend rates if it blocks on a Saturday.
Here is what we do differently. We put the camera down the line first and show you what is actually in there. A blockage caused by wet wipes and grease is a different job from one caused by a tree root, and a root is a different job again from a cracked or collapsed section of pipe. Clearing all three feels the same on the day. Only one of them stays fixed once we drive away.
That matters because a machine can clear almost anything for a week. If the pipe is damaged, the blockage comes back and you pay again. When the camera shows a cracked or root-invaded line, we will tell you and price the repair properly, usually with no-dig pipe relining in Brisbane rather than digging up the yard.
Drainage work is regulated, so it goes to a licensed drainer, and ours holds QBCC licence 15578913. The clear is guaranteed for life on our workmanship, the site gets hosed down before we leave, and same-day service is guaranteed or $65 comes off the job. You end up with the footage, the cause and a fixed price, not just a cleared drain and a shrug.
Not every blockage is yours to fix. The dividing line is your property boundary: anything on the street side of it belongs to Urban Utilities, and anything inside it belongs to the owner. If the camera shows the problem sitting on their side, we say so and you ring 13 23 64 instead of paying us. That is a short conversation that saves people real money.
Access changes the job too. An inspection opening at the boundary is easy. A blockage under a slab, behind a retaining wall, or in a shared line in a block of units takes longer and needs the camera to sort out who and what is involved. If raw sewage is backing up inside the house, treat it as urgent and call our after-hours emergency plumbing rather than waiting for a booking.
Different drains block for different reasons and need different gear. Knowing which line you are dealing with is half the job, and it changes both the method and the price. Here is what we clear across Brisbane homes and businesses.
Grease, food scraps and coffee grounds set hard in the trap and the branch line. Cleared with a jetter, not a plunger.
Wet wipes, sanitary products and root intrusion. If more than one fixture is slow, the blockage is further down the line.
Hair and soap build-up close to the grate, or a bigger problem downstream showing up at the lowest point in the house.
Leaves, silt and collapsed agricultural drain. Usually noticed the first heavy afternoon storm after nobody has looked at it for years.
Overflow relief gullies, inspection openings and the run out to the boundary. Where we confirm whether the blockage is yours or theirs.
Cafes, restaurants and shared lines in unit blocks. Higher volumes, tighter downtime windows, and grease that never stops arriving.
Camera first, fixed price second, and the cause written down so it does not come back.
Six things cover almost every drain job we get called to, from a slow kitchen sink to a collapsed sewer under the driveway. Some are a one-visit clear. Others need the camera and a proper repair plan. We will tell you which one you are looking at before we quote, not after the invoice arrives.
Electric eel or high-pressure jetter depending on the line and the blockage. Cleared on the first visit wherever the pipe allows it.
The camera goes down before anyone quotes a repair. You see the footage and the cause, not just our word for it.
Cuts through grease, silt and root hair and scours the pipe wall, which a cable alone cannot do.
Cutting the roots out is the easy half. Sealing the crack they came through is what stops them returning.
Sectional patches, relining and, where there is no alternative, excavation. We quote the option that actually suits the pipe.
Sewage coming back up inside the house is not a next-week job. We take after-hours drain calls.
Call Vanguard Plumbing & Gas and we will get a plumber out to you for a $0 call out fee*. We will camera the line, show you the cause and price the fix before we start.
Drains rarely block all at once. They give you a week or two of small hints first, and every one of them is cheaper to deal with than the morning the toilet overflows. If you are seeing two or more of these, the line is already partly blocked.
One slow drain is a plumbing job. Three slow fixtures at once is a main line problem, and it will not sort itself out. We will camera it, tell you the cause and give you a fixed price either way. You can book a plumber today and be done with it.
Clearing a drain without knowing why it blocked is how you end up paying twice. These are the six causes we find most often in Brisbane, and each one points to a different fix and a different price.
Roots follow moisture into a hairline crack or a loose joint, then fill the pipe. Common in older clay sewer lines.
Poured down the sink warm, sets hard on the pipe wall as it cools, and narrows the line until nothing passes.
Wipes labelled flushable do not break down. They catch on a joint and everything after them stops there too.
Ground movement, age or a vehicle over a shallow line. The pipe deforms and debris piles up at the damage.
A section that has dropped holds water and solids instead of draining. It blocks in the same spot every time.
Leaves, sand and soil wash into stormwater lines and pits, then compact into something a garden hose will not shift.
Most repeat blockages are avoidable. Scrape plates into the bin rather than the sink, pour cooking fat into a jar once it cools, fit strainers over the shower and kitchen wastes, and keep leaves out of the stormwater pits before storm season. None of it is glamorous and all of it works.
A blocked kitchen sink in a Brisbane house and a grease-choked line under a cafe are the same principle and a very different job. Commercial sites usually mean shared lines, trade waste obligations and a window where you cannot afford to be closed. We work around the trading hours rather than through them.
Six steps, the same on every drain call. You will know what we found, what caused it and what it costs before we do any repair work, and you will have seen the footage yourself.
Tell us which fixtures are slow and whether anything is overflowing. That alone usually tells us how far down the problem is.
Eel or jetter, whichever suits the line. Getting flow back first means we can then see the pipe properly.
We run the CCTV camera through and locate the cause and its depth. You watch the screen with us.
Roots, grease, a foreign object or a broken pipe. We explain which it is and whether it will come back.
If the pipe needs work you get the options and one fixed price in writing. No obligation to go ahead.
Site left as we found it, the footage saved for you, and the workmanship covered by our lifetime guarantee.
$77 off blocked drain work, and the CCTV camera inspection comes free with it. Same-day service is guaranteed, or you get $65 off the job.
Anyone can push a cable down a drain and drive away. What you actually want to know is why it blocked and whether it will happen again. That is the part we put in writing. Five reasons customers stay with us.
We show you what is in the pipe before anyone talks about repairs, so you are not paying for guesswork.
The number is agreed before the first tool comes out of the van, and it does not move once we are on site.
QBCC licence 15578913, fully insured, and 20+ years on Brisbane drains. Regulated drainage work has to be done by a licensed drainer.
Our lifetime workmanship guarantee means a repair we made is our problem if it fails, not another callout you pay for.
Drain work is dirty. Ours finishes with the area hosed down and the mess gone, which is what our clean-up guarantee means.

It depends which side of the property boundary the blockage sits on. Urban Utilities looks after the sewer and water infrastructure outside your boundary. Everything inside it is the property owner’s responsibility, including the line running from the house out to the connection point. We camera the line to establish which side it is on. If it turns out to be theirs, call Urban Utilities on 13 23 64 and you will not be paying us to fix it.
Tree roots and grease, in that order. Brisbane has a lot of older clay sewer lines with joints that roots find easily, and mature trees sitting right over them. In kitchens it is fat poured down the sink that sets on the pipe wall as it cools. Wet wipes are the third one, and they do not break down no matter what the packet says.
Yes, always, and there is currently no charge for it. Clearing a drain tells you nothing about why it blocked. The camera shows whether you are dealing with roots, grease, an object or a cracked pipe, and where along the line it sits. You see the footage as we go. That is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that brings us back.
Usually. We cut the roots out with a jetter or a root cutting head, then camera the line to find the crack or joint they came in through. Sealing that entry point is what actually stops them coming back. In most cases that is done with a liner fitted from inside the pipe, so the only digging is at the existing inspection opening.
Drain clearing starts from $99, and there is currently $77 off blocked drain work. What moves the price is access and what is causing the blockage. A kitchen sink you can reach from inside is not the same job as a sewer line under a driveway. You get a fixed price before we start, and the call-out to come and look is $0*.
Stop using water in the house, including the washing machine and dishwasher, because everything you run adds to what is coming back up. Keep people and pets away from it. If there is an overflow relief gully outside, usually a grate set lower than your floor level, check it is clear so the overflow goes outside rather than through the house. Then call 0487 037 290.
Tell us what the drains are doing and we will tell you whether it needs a camera or just a clear. No charge for the conversation.
